We are
now at the second checkpoint of Ephesians
6:15.
We have discussed this checkpoint of Ephesians
6:15 rather extensively. Having been
established in the truth that Christ Jesus has made us righteous in Him, we can
then walk, that is, live our lives in peace; being reunited with or reconciled
to God. The very truth that Jesus of
Nazareth has fulfilled every Messianic credential to make us righteous, based
on the evidence that God has provided, gives us the unshakable and immovable
foundation to overcome every challenge in life.
Jesus
said in John
16:33 that we will sure face trials and tribulations in this
world. But we can be courageous because
He Who fights our battles have overcome them.
Satan will try to inflict fear in our lives. But Romans
16:20 tells us that the peace of and with God will crush those
fears! Being courageous is not the
absence of fear. It is the posture of
quiet confidence and assurance garnered from Romans
8:31 which states that “Since God
is for us, who can be against us?” What can Satan do to us through people and
circumstances? For greater is He Who is
in me than he who is in the world (1
John 4:4). As much as Satan is
the god of this world as revealed by 2
Corinthians 4:4, Elohim has highly exalted the Name of Jesus such that
even Satan has to bow before that Name as stated in Philippians
2:10.
The crux of Ephesians 6:15 is
therefore to:
“Live life empowered by the Gospel”.
The
Gospel of salvation through Christ Jesus is the power that saves us from
everything that needs saving. It is for
this reason that the apostle Paul said in Romans
1:16 that “He was not ashamed of
the Gospel for it is the power of God for salvation”.
