The seventh trailhead of Isaiah
53:4 makes
reference to the Promised Messiah bringing healing. It leads to the trail of Matthew
8:17, which is set in
the context of Jesus of Nazareth healing physical ailments as recorded in Matthew
8:1-17.
When
we compare Isaiah 53:4 and Matthew 8:17, we see how the New
Testament interprets the Old; another instance of the Bible interpreting the
Bible.
Griefs
is interpreted as infirmities while sorrows, diseases. Therefore, the beloved Son of God in the
flesh as Jesus of Nazareth was stricken by God to heal us of physical
ailments. By so doing, He brings rest to
the soul. This is further substantiated by 1
Peter 2:24.
As such, these New Testament scriptures verified that the
beloved Son of God in the flesh as Jesus of Nazareth had fulfilled the
Isaiah 53:4 Messianic credential.
