We are now at the first checkpoint of Isaiah
6:9. It is set in the context of
God sending the prophet Isaiah to preach about the Messiah as recorded in Isaiah
6:8-13.
Earlier, we
have seen from John
12:41 that the prophet Isaiah saw the suffering and crucifixion of the
Messiah.
Here
in Isaiah 6:9, we see God sending the prophet Isaiah to go and tell
Israel about the Messiah. It reminds me
of Matthew
28:19 where Jesus gave the same commission to believers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations”.
Thus,
the essence of Isaiah 6:9 is:
“God sent Isaiah to preach the Messiah”.
