We are on the
second track of John
12:41. Similarly, it is set in
the context of “Israel’s rejection of the Messiah Foretold” as written in John
12:36-43.
From
John
13:31, we see that the glory of the Messiah refers to His suffering and
crucifixion. The verse is set in the
context of Judas who was about to betray Jesus as recorded in John
13:21-35. And we know what
followed after the betrayal; Jesus of Nazareth was crucified.
Therefore,
the heart of John 12:41 is:
“Isaiah saw the suffering and crucifixion of
the Messiah”
