The
second track of Luke
3:6 from the second trail of Isaiah
52:10 is set in the context of the preaching of John the Baptist as per
Luke
3:1-6. What actually did John the Baptist preach?
According
to Luke
3:3, he preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of
sins. Since that was the case, water
baptism would symbolize repentance, a turning away from the past due to a
change in thinking. An in-depth discussion of repentance can be found in Chapter 6 of volume 1 of this
series.
The
crux of Luke 3:6 is:
“The Salvation of God is for the
entire world.”
