We are on the first path of Exodus
12:16.
It
is set in the context of the Feast of Unleavened Bread as stated in Exodus
12:14-22. A point to note in the context
passage is that whoever eats leavened bread shall be cut off. This points to those falling from grace by seeking
salvation other than in Christ crucified as recorded in Galatians
5:4.
When
we were at the
checkpoint of Mark
15:42, we saw that
Jesus of Nazareth was buried on Preparation Day, the day before Sabbath. To reiterate, we saw from John
19:14 that it was the day of Preparation for the Passover week. And from the footnote to John
18:28 of the Amplified Bible,
we gathered that the Passover week referred to the Feast of Unleavened Bread
that lasted for seven days. Again, from John
19:31 of the Amplified
Bible, we are told that it was not the ordinary preparation day for the
weekly Sabbath. Rather, it was the
Preparation Day for a high holy day.
The
crux of Exodus 12:16 is the:
“Celebration of the Passover
Week”.
