This series comes in five volumes. The first volume
plays an introductory role just as how John the Baptist announced the arrival
of the Promised Messiah. The other four
volumes deal with each of the four famous Messianic prophecies,
respectively. It is very much like how
the four Gospels wrote about the earthly ministry of Jesus. I am cognizant of the fact the Book of John is
a class on its own. John's Gospel is
different from the other three accounts in that his primary goal was not to
provide a historical treatment of the life of Jesus but to exalt the Person of
Jesus so that the readers would believe on Him and be saved.
In this third volume, we will be looking at
what God said about how He would help His Servant through the writings of the
prophets of old. We will then follow the
clues given in the Old Testament scriptures to unearth New Testament evidence
of the fulfilment of those prophecies in and by the beloved Son of God in the
flesh as Jesus of Nazareth. In the
course of exploration and discovery, we will rely on the above map to keep
our bearing.
This second Marker of Isaiah 49:1-9 is the most extensive one in
the entire series. It reaches nine levels deep from the trailhead of Isaiah 49:3. Hidden within this maze of scripture cross
referencing are 69 golden nuggets of New Testament evidence. As we explore the Marker, we will pick up
those golden nuggets and deposit them into the treasury of our heart.
