We are now at the first footprint of Genesis 12:7. The verse is set in the context of Abram leaving Haran for Canaan as directed by God.

In Genesis 13:15, we read of a piece of land that God promised to give to Abram and his descendants.  Here, in Genesis 12:7, we are told that the Promised Land is Canaan.
