We
are now on the path of Matthew 17:5.
It is set in the
context of the transfiguration of Jesus as written in Matthew 17:1-6. This is the second occurrence of God the
Father openly declaring Jesus of Nazareth as His beloved Son. As can
be seen from the context passage, Jesus led Peter, James, and John up on a high
mountain where the divine glory of Jesus as the beloved Son of God was revealed
to the three disciples.
