We
touched on this while we were at the checkpoint of Matthew 3:13-17.
The thrust of this verse is:
God the Father audibly
declared Jesus of Nazareth as His beloved Son in Whom He is well-pleased.
The trail of Matthew
3:17 leads to the track of Psalm 2:7 and points back to the
trailhead of Isaiah 42:1.
