We
are now at the fourth and final checkpoint of Luke 3:23. It is in the
context of the genealogy of Jesus as recorded in Luke 3:23-38.
When we look at the
context passage, we see that Jesus of Nazareth is the beloved Son of God Whom
in the physical lineage descended through the family line of David and
Abraham. Jesus of Nazareth was the
descendant or Child of promise as mentioned in the Abrahamic Covenant. Going by physical descent, we can say that Luke
3:23 testified to Jesus of Nazareth as the Promised Seed mentioned in Genesis 3:15. Again, we witness the faithfulness and
integrity of God in fulfilling what He promised.
